About The Travelling Vet Nurse

Hi!

I’m Summer, and I have worked as a qualified veterinary nurse for 14 years in multiple clinics.

I founded The Travelling Vet Nurse to provide professional animal care services in the comfort of the pets home, while also making life more convenient for owners!

I have seen the need for more in-home care for animals. Some pets can get scared and anxious going to the vet or going to a kennel or cattery when their owner goes away.

I’ve always wanted to work with animals. I grew up with a large variety of pets including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, fish, ducks, chickens and budgies. After completing both a Certificate III Companion Animal Services and Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing, I have worked as a Senior Nurse, Customer Service Manager and Nurse Manager.

I have had my 14 year old Jack Russell cross since he was 8 weeks old. I have nursed him through cruciate surgeries on both knees, cancerous lump removal, tooth extractions and more recently pancreatitis and diabetes (he now has insulin injections twice a day). I also have an 8 year old budgie named Sunny, who loves playing with her bell and sitting on our shoulder.

I live in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne and look forward to helping pets and their owners in the local community.
