Thank you for entrusting us with such a special and precious time for you and your pet.

My name is Summer and I am the founder of The Travelling Vet Nurse. I am a Senior Qualified Veterinary Nurse with over 14 years experience. I opened The Travelling Vet Nurse in June 2020 as I saw the need for pet care within the home.

Over the last two years, it has been wonderful meeting so many clients and offering care for their pets in the comfort of the home.

In June 2021, my beloved 15 year old Jack Russell "Cody" was very unwell. Cody didn't love going to the vet, so I wanted him to be put to sleep in the warmth and comfort of his home because I didn't want him to be scared during his last moments.

My good friend and previous work colleague, Dr Melissa Hayde came to my home and provided such a beautiful end of life service for us and our little man, Cody. It was so peaceful being at home. My husband and I laid in a makeshift bed in the lounge room, with Cody cuddling me in the soft blankets on my chest as he took his last breath. It is a memory that I will cherish forever and will be eternally grateful to Dr Melissa always. She was so gentle, caring and warm. 

I was so pleased when Dr Melissa agreed to provide end of life care for The Travelling Vet Nurse. 

Dr Melissa is a Senior Veterinarian with 25 years experience. She is compassionate, caring, warm but most of all, understands the importance of end of life care. She has done extensive training in euthanasia, specialising in end of life care at home. I can guarantee that she will provide a kind and peaceful end of life service to you and your pet.

Dr Melissa and I have both recently been through the end of life stages with our own pets, and our vision is to provide the kindest home euthanasia service we can. We know that euthanasia is hard to talk about and it's really hard to make that final decision.
